Job Description

The Services required are set out as follows:

1. To manage and maintain the school’s Audio-Visual (AV) equipment and infrastructure, including duties such as: a. ensuring all AV devices (projectors, speakers, smart boards, visualisers, microphones, amplifiers, mixers, wireless systems, etc.) in classrooms, the school hall, broadcasting room and other special rooms are functional and regularly maintained.

b. conducting routine inspections and preventive maintenance, diagnosing faults and coordinating repairs or replacements with external vendors as needed.

c. maintaining an up-to-date inventory of all AV equipment, including warranty status, service history and equipment lifecycle records.

d. advising the school leadership on AV upgrades, refresh cycles, procurement of new equipment and the adoption of new AV software/technologies aligned to the school’s teaching, learning and event needs.

e. developing, documenting and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the operation, care and safe handling of AV equipment by staff and students

. f. evaluating new AV solutions (hardware and software), conducting trials where appropriate and recommending solutions that best fit the school’s requirements and budget.

g. providing orientation and training for staff and students on the proper and confident use of AV equipment (e.g. classroom AV systems, hall PA system, broadcasting and live-streaming setups), including onboarding of new staff and refresher sessions as needed.

2. To set up, operate and manage AV for school events and daily school routines, including duties such as:

a. preparing and managing all AV requirements for morning routines (e.g. national anthem, school song), school hall assemblies, school events and external-facing activities, covering installation, testing and live operation.

b. planning, setting up, operating and tearing down streaming equipment for events that are broadcast live or online (e.g. live-streams, online broadcasts, hybrid meetings).

c. troubleshooting AV issues in real time during events and executing contingency plans to ensure seamless delivery.

3. To assist in media production for school events and/or external school activities, including duties such as:

a. photo-taking and video-taking using school-owned equipment, producing high-quality visual assets for school events and documentation.

b. producing, directing and editing videos, including creating photo-montages, using iMovie, Photoshop, Canva or equivalent software.

4. To provide assistance to students in the usage of their Personal Learning Device (Apple iPad) and school accounts, including duties such as:

a. managing students’ and staff devices via Apple School Manager.

b. assisting in monitoring students’ iPads and managing associated settings on the Device Management Application.

c. handling day-to-day student issues with iPads and school accounts, such as providing technical support, troubleshooting problems, logging service requests with the service provider and sending iPads for repair as needed.

5. To plan for, prepare materials and conduct lessons for students and teachers on areas of media production and digital productivity, so as to increase their competence and confidence in using the relevant software, such as:

a. basic skills in using a digital camera or equivalent equipment.

b. videography processes and production stages (including filming, editing video footage, inserting subtitles and the use of a green screen and teleprompter).

c. digital productivity skills in using Google Suite (Slides, Docs, Sheets, Sites, Forms, Drive), Microsoft Office tools and Canva.

d. other digital literacy skills as deemed appropriate by the school.

6. To work with the ICT Technical Team:

a. on the preparation and troubleshooting of ICT equipment in classrooms, computer labs, the broadcasting room and other special rooms.

b. assisting in managing and tracking of the school’s ICT/AV equipment and resources (e.g. iPads, MacBooks, cameras, printers, microphones, etc.) with up-to-date documentation.

c. managing the loaning, tracking and return of ICT devices for staff use.

7. To assist in MOE-initiated rollouts and projects.
