Job Description

Job Responsibilities

To support the essential fire protection systems including the VESDA systems, the smoke detection and fire alarm systems, the gas suppression systems and the pre-action water sprinkler systems.
To administer and monitor the health of the Data Centre Critical (M&E) Facilities infrastructure services using environment monitoring systems like the UPS Battery Monitoring System, Water Leakage Detection System, DC Security Surveillance and Video Analytics Systems, Building Management System and DC Infrastructure Management System.
The onsite Engineer/Specialist must be always contactable on a 24×7 basis via mobile phone by Clients authorized personnel. He/she shall respond within the committed SLA time to requests.
To conduct regular routine checks on Facilities equipment and Data Centre environment to ensure smooth and seamless operations.
To oversee the regular Data Centre (M&E) Facilities servicing and maintenance of the ITD Data Centres and ensure that Service Reports and documentation are submitted.
To manage the IMAC (Install Move Add and Change) documentation of the (M&E) Facilities equipment in Data Centre.
To prepare the Annual (M&E) Facilities Maintenance work schedule plan with the appointed Maintenance vendors to ensure maintenance works are in accordance to the maintenance requirements.
To follow up with any (M&E) Facilities related issues or incidents that occur in the Data Centre.
To maintain the SOPs for Data Centre.
To liaise with Building Landlord or Facility Management for maintenance works that affect the building, e.g. building power maintenance.
To conduct regular site inspection on (M&E) Facilities to maintain no unsafe conditions are present in the DC environment. Any hazard(s) found during the site inspection are to be reported to the Clients authorised personnel for further advise/action.
To manage and escort the Data Centre (M&E) Facilities equipment vendors for their regular maintenance and other Ad hoc arrangements.
To monitor the power consumption in Data Centre.
To monitor the Data Hall environment such as temperature and humidity in Data Centre.
To submit monthly reports on M&E Facilities equipment withClient approved templates on timely basis and attend regular monthly meetings with client authorised personnels.
To monitor the energy-efficiency of the data centres to maintain a good PUE as per Green Data Centres.
To monitor the (M&E) Facilities Critical infrastructure capacity (e.g. power, cooling) of Data Centre.

Job Requirement

Job Requirements

  • Nitec/Higher Nitec/Diploma level or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Facilities Management
  • Qualified DC Certification(s)
  • Minimum 18 months of experience in data centre operations (DCFM) with demonstrated track record in management of call handling, incident escalation, vendor management, change request management, service request management.
