Sterile Supplies Technician (8 hrs shift – 6 days a week)

Job Description

Performs soil collection and decontamination activities (manually and/or mechanically) on surgical instruments, utensils and equipment
Inspects, assembles and packs instrument sets, procedure sets, utensil sets and all other reusable supplies according to the hospital’s requirements
Operates sterilizers to sterilize instrument sets, procedure sets, utensil sets and all other reusable supplies and monitor its recordings
Performs quality controls, i.e., load check, soil test, ATP, cultures and its readings when required
Storage of sterile items after sterilisation
Supervises distribution of sterile supplies used in the hospital
Acts as first point of contact for user departments regarding problems with instruments or supplies
Prepares and issues emergency supplies on demand
Prepares reports on hazards occurring in area of responsibilities and control issues of sterile inventory
