Responsibilities
Patient Care Management
Provide specialized care and advanced nursing care and patient education by performing the clinical nursing role.
Operate independently or with another RN without the need for clinical supervision or doctors instructions/ orders.
Triage, assess, make provisional diagnosis and impressions, treat, monitor, discharge, transfer all cases that come in. Initiate prompt actions in the event of an emergency or a deteriorating patient.
Patient Communication
Treat all patients appropriately and communicate all medical matters to them in an appropriate and understandable way.
Ensure that the treatment plan, findings, disposition is communicated appropriately to the patient
and other members of the team caring for the patient.
Medical/ Nursing Procedures and Skills
Dealing with medications, allergies, dispensing, administering and monitoring of therapeutic effect on medications
Perform point-of-care testing. Perform capillary blood glucose readings
Able to perform BCLS, including utilization of mechanical CPR devices, Perform resuscitation, including use of AED function on defibrillators, performing CPR, and the treatment needed for the emergency treatment of patients
Documentation of Care
Nurses should be able to document clearly and accurately using the appropriate medical terminology for medicolegal purposes.
Documentation should be performed truthfully, and any errors should be indicated, counter-signed (if needed), and the reason for correction should be documented (where possible)
Job Requirement
Requirements:
- The RN’s shall have valid practicing certificates with the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB) and shall have Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certifications.
- RN’s shall have at least two (2) years of experience in acute/ tertiary hospital settings, with preference to acute settings, such as emergency, intensive care, high dependency, general ward (medical surgical), prehospital medicine, or other related fields.
