Sterile Supplies Specialist – Senior

Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

Performs soil collection and decontamination activities (manually and/or mechanically) on surgical instruments, utensils and equipment;
Inspects, assembles and packs instrument sets, procedure sets, utensil sets and all other reusable supplies according to the hospital’s requirements;
Operates sterilizers to sterilize instrument sets, procedure sets, utensil sets and all other reusable supplies and monitor its recordings;
Performs quality controls, i.e. load check, soil test, ATP, cultures and its readings when required;
Storage of sterile items after sterilisation;
Supervises distribution of sterile supplies used in the hospital;
Assists supervisor in inventory and other areas when needed;
Acts as first point of contact for user departments regarding problems with instruments or supplies;
Prepares and issues emergency supplies on demand;
Prepares reports on hazards occurring in area of responsibilities and control issues of sterile inventory; and
Assists in orientation and continuing training of other new personnel.
