About the Role
We are hiring a Technical Officer to be part of our Duty Engineering Team (DET) that maintains the operational readiness of vessel traffic and communication systems used for port and maritime operations.
This role involves shift work, on-site maintenance, and coordination with contractors to ensure system reliability and uptime.
Key Responsibilities
Perform 12-hour rotating shifts to support daily operations and system monitoring at control centres.
Respond promptly to system faults and perform corrective maintenance and troubleshooting.
Conduct preventive maintenance and assist with service checks and documentation.
Support installation, modification, or relocation of equipment and wiring systems.
Attend site meetings, conduct inspections, and coordinate with maintenance contractors.
Travel to and perform maintenance at remote or offshore sites when required (overnight stays may be needed).
Maintain records of maintenance activities, faults, and compliance documentation.
Job Requirement
Requirements
Minimum Diploma or NITEC/Higher NITEC in Electrical, Electronic, or related engineering discipline.
At least 2 years of hands-on experience in electrical, electronic, or communication system maintenance.
Experience in troubleshooting and maintaining networked or control systems preferred.
Knowledge of marine electronics or communications systems will be an advantage.
Able to work rotating shifts and standby duties (including weekends and public holidays).
Physically fit to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, including offshore sites.
