Job Description

Should be competent to handle the tasks and

responsibilities assigned.

 Demonstrates experience working specifically with

students who have mild to profound hearing loss

 Demonstrates a profound understanding of the various

degrees and types of hearing loss.

 Familiar with hearing aids, cochlear implants, and other

assistive listening devices.

 Ability to work in tandem with other professionals and

school personnel involved in the students’ education

(SENOs as well as Specialised Teachers and Educational

Interpreters for Hearing Loss etc).

 Ability to conduct thorough assessments to determine the

communication needs and abilities of each student.

 Ability to develop individualised intervention plans tailored

to each student’s specific requirements.

 Ability to adapt therapy techniques to accommodate

varying degrees of hearing loss and learning styles.

 Clearly outlines availability and the ability to work within

the school schedule.

 Possesses creative and innovative approaches to engage

students in speech therapy activities.
