Should be competent to handle the tasks and
responsibilities assigned.
Demonstrates experience working specifically with
students who have mild to profound hearing loss
Demonstrates a profound understanding of the various
degrees and types of hearing loss.
Familiar with hearing aids, cochlear implants, and other
assistive listening devices.
Ability to work in tandem with other professionals and
school personnel involved in the students’ education
(SENOs as well as Specialised Teachers and Educational
Interpreters for Hearing Loss etc).
Ability to conduct thorough assessments to determine the
communication needs and abilities of each student.
Ability to develop individualised intervention plans tailored
to each student’s specific requirements.
Ability to adapt therapy techniques to accommodate
varying degrees of hearing loss and learning styles.
Clearly outlines availability and the ability to work within
the school schedule.
Possesses creative and innovative approaches to engage
students in speech therapy activities.
