Lab Assistant (Blood Donors)

Job Description

Responsibilities

Perform pre-analytical donation sample preparation for screening tests. e.g. spinning of sample tubes and sorting in running sequence.
Prepare blood components (red cells, platelets and plasma) from blood donations Freezing and washing of red blood cells.
Distribute and pack inventory blood components into storage holding area ready for distribution to hospitals.
Label and release blood components through the blood bank computer system for release to use.
Issue and distribute blood components to hospital through blood bank computer system.
Packing of consignment blood components into carton boxes in accordance with cold chain transportation requirement.
Assist Laboratory Officer with general laboratory duties
