Job Description

Job Responsibility

The Candidate will be responsible to ensure all the applications systems remain in good working order.
The Candidate is expected to take on support of new application systems when they become operational.
The Candidate will respond to production emergencies in a timely manner based on Client’s Service Levels . This includes bringing up the server (in a crash) or system processes, fixing problems or finding workarounds.
The Candidate is expected to diligently perform routine checks and to escalate to the Project Manager should any anomaly be detected. The Candidate should show the initiative to alert and troubleshoot together with other system engineers, database administrator (DBA) and outsourced vendors.
The Candidate is expected to follow through every issue / problem to closure, and complete the necessary documentation as required by the Client.
The Candidate will assist users and answer queries regarding the supported operational systems.
The Candidate is expected to interface with the helpdesk agents, end-users, integrated applications support teams and external vendors during application support and problem resolution.
The Candidate is expected to be on standby support on off-office-hours / weekends / public holidays when needed such as during scheduled maintenance, system crash or system upgrade exercise.
Besides application support, the Candidate is also expected to document changes/enhancements that arise from service requests. The Candidate will follow the client’s technical standards and update the necessary documentation.
The candidate shall report to the Project Manager in tracking and managing the project timelines and resources that he/she has been assigned to undertake.
The Candidate shall be able to work independently with minimum supervision. He/She shall also work effectively as a team member among the system support and application development teams.

  • The Candidate shall possess at least a Degree in Information Technology (IT), Computer Science or equivalent qualification.
  • The Candidate shall have at least THREE (3) years of work experience in IT development, with exposure to end-to-end software development lifecycle (SDLC - system analysis and design; full stack development and testing; and operational support and maintenance).
  • The candidate shall have at least three (3) years of development and maintenance support on the below technical skill sets:
  1. ASP.NET, C#, Python, Java, JavaScript, BOOTSTRAP, HTML, SSRS Reporting, WCF, WSCF Blue
  2. Web Services development and integration using REST based web services
  3. Frameworks including .Net, Entity Framework and MVC (preferably with .Net Framework 4.7.2 and above)
  4. Batch scripting including .bat and .vbs
  5. Rabbit MQ and Redis
  • The Candidate shall have hands-on experience in writing Microsoft SQL queries such as trigger, job, SQL joins, subqueries, stored procedures or views.The Candidate shall have hands-on experience with development or maintenance of a system integration process:
  1. Experience in developing or maintaining RESTful web services, message queueing systems, asynchronous processing, scheduled job, integrated pipeline with external system thru AWS Simple Storage Service (S3), Azure Blob Storage or file transfer protocol.
  2. Knowledge of data ingestion or log management to troubleshoot incidents using a log data analysis tool such as Splunk, CloudWatch, etc
  • The Candidate shall have conceptual knowledge of cloud hosting concept, proficiency with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, etc.
  • The Candidate is to be proficient in Radio Frequency (RF) systems, electronic kiosk payment gateways, single-sign on application and Web-services.
  • The Candidate is to be proficient in strong knowledge of handling data as follow:
  1. Experience in data process between databases or from legacy system to new system.
  2. Knowledge of database encryption and handle on sensitive data.
  • The Candidate is to be proficient in cloud implementation experience that includes:
  1. Implementation or conceptual knowledge of cloud architectures includes understanding on load balances, relationships between endpoints, private link, DNS, domain knowledge, firewall.
  2. Understand or experience on serverless computing platforms such as AWS Lambda, Azure Functions.
  • The Candidate is to be proficient in system support and maintenance responsibility.
  • The Candidate is to be proficient in document management that includes:
  1. Maintaining and organising all project-related documents.
  2. Ensure version control of important files.
  3. Creation and updating of project documentation as required.
  • The Candidate is to be proficient in utilizing development source code repository using GIT.
  • The Candidate is to be proficient in quality control support and change request management that includes:
  1. Perform impact assessment on the change requests or translate the requirements between users and vendors.
  2. Help manage, organise and collect feedback of the user acceptance testing (UAT) process.
  3. Assist in coordinating quality assurance activities.
