Job Description

1. Investigative & Case Support

• Assist in conducting preliminary investigations and fact-finding

interviews including checking accounts with involved students,

staff, and witnesses, and reviewing CCTV recordings to establish

facts.

• Obtain student and witness statements where appropriate and

compile evidence and prepare structured incident reports to

relevant Key Personnel (KPs) for directions

• Follow up with students and relevant parties based on

established findings, and communicate consequences with prior

approval from school leaders or key personnel.

2. Detention, Suspension & Restorative Follow-Up

• Conduct restorative sessions and reflection sessions with

students involved in discipline cases.

• Work with Form teachers to ensure that students report for

detention or recess/event suspension

• Engage or Supervise detention sessions and recess/event

suspensions

• Ensure that detention rules are kept to during detention sessions

• Maintain attendance and behavioural records during the

detention sessions

• Update and follow up with any detention/suspension defaulters

3. Student Management & Supervision

• Monitor recess duties

• Conduct patrols during after-school hours, particularly around play

areas and side gates, to ensure student safety and orderly

conduct.

The officer may also be assigned any other administrative and operational

duties pertaining to student management as directed by the school.

Reporting Structures and Expectations:

1. Deployment & Reporting

• The DSO will report operationally to the Student Management

Committee

• Deployment schedule will be determined by the school in

accordance with the termly school timetable and school events

2. Performance Expectations

The DSO is expected to:

• demonstrate professionalism, discretion and good judgment

• engage students respectfully and constructively

• uphold confidentiality and procedural fairness

• collaborate effectively with teachers and SM personnel
