Job Description
The Services required are set out as follows:
Student Outreach, Mentoring and Engagement
The Youth Worker will work with the SDT to conduct proactive student
engagement during non-curriculum periods including recess, lunch
breaks, and after-school. This involves building positive relationships
with primary school students, and creating an inclusive environment that
promotes school connectedness. The Youth Worker will observe student
interactions and behaviours and support students with socio-emotional
needs as identified by the school. Any concerns regarding student
welfare or behaviour shall be escalated to HOD/Student Management
(SM), YHs or SH/SM or any of the designated school personnel in
accordance with the school’s protocols.
The Youth Worker will be responsible for the maintenance and
management of the school’s A.S.P.I.R.E Room during recess, after
school hours, and at stipulated times during school holidays. The
responsibilities include:
* Opening and closing the A.S.P.I.R.E Room
* Ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of the room, including
proper maintenance of all assets
* Supervising students who are using the room
* Collaborating with A.S.P.I.R.E teachers to provide leadership
opportunities for students through their involvement in managing
the room
* Carrying out any other duties assigned by the school related to
the management of the A.S.P.I.R.E Room
Programme Planning and Activity Facilitation for A.S.P.I.R.E
The Youth Worker shall support the A.S.P.I.R.E programme and work
with the respective SDT members and A.S.P.I.R.E team of teachers to
plan, enact, monitor and evaluate the efficacy of the programme to better
support the school’s identified students.
This includes supporting the school in coordinating with external partner
to curate or design and implement age-appropriate after-school activities
aligned with Singapore’s Character and Citizenship Education (CCE)
framework. In the absence of external partners, the Youth Worker may
be tasked toindependently design and implement activities that achieve
the same intended outcomes.
Activities will encompass character development, social-emotional
learning, recreational sports, creative arts, and leadership development
programmes. The Youth Worker must ensure all activities comply with
MOE safety guidelines and school policies, maintain attendance records,
and adapt programmes to meet the diverse learning needs and
backgrounds of students. The youth worker should also conduct regular
programme evaluation and feedback collection to assess the
effectiveness of the programmes.
Resource and Inventory Management
The Youth Worker shall maintain and manage the inventory of the
programme resources including sports equipment, educational materials,
craft supplies, and any other items or equipment. This includes
conducting regular stock checks, ensuring proper storage and
maintenance of the equipment and preparing activity materials in
advance. The Youth Worker shall maintain accurate records of resource
usage and coordinate with the school’s administration team for the
procurement of items.
Deliverables
* To assist the SDT team in preparing an individualised A.S.P.I.R.E
report for each student semestrally.
* Monthly activity reports documenting student attendance and
engagement levels
* Termly programme evaluation reports with analysis of student
feedback
* Semi-annual inventory reports
* Termly reports on the students on any socio-emotional needs,
family or behavioural issues.
* Incident reports based on the school protocols.
