Job Description
The Services required are set out as follows:
a. Preparation of food
– Stock-take food delivery from vendor and prepare ingredients
and equipment for each student table before the start of the
practical lesson.
– Cut and separate out the portion of the food for the teachers
before the start of the lessons and also in between when there
are lessons back to back.
– Stock-take food at the end of each term, and inform the teachers
what has expired and help clear certain items.
b. Cleaning of areas
– Help to clean up the kitchen and other rooms if necessary after
the lessons.
– Wash, clean and store away all the utensils and cutlery at the
end of the day.
– Ensure that there are sufficient stock of all cleaning materials. i.e.
dishwashing liquid, detergent.
c. Safety aspects
– Turn on and off gas levers at the beginning and end of each
lesson, washing of the tea towels and dish cloths in the washing
machine and drying them in the dryer and fold them once they
are done.
– Cleaning up of the kitchens and equipment at the end of the day
so as to ensure that no left over food is in the basin/sink and that
the hygiene of the kitchen is not compromised.
– Checking if the equipment works. Report any faults or issues that
need immediate attention such as faulty taps/blender/fans/oven
etc. to teachers as soon as possible to avoid serious situations
arising, having particular regard for own health and safety and
the health and safety of other users.
d. Ad-hoc Events
– Be involved in the preparation of events and activities, this will
include practical examinations that may be conducted outside
curriculum time which includes helping to clean up after the
activities.
