Ensure all 4 pool entry gates at the 50-metre pool and 1 gate at the infant pool are locked when unsupervised by a PE teacher or coach.
Maintain vigilant supervision of all students in and around the pools, remaining alert to potential risks and hazards.
Conduct student headcounts at the start and end of every aquatics session.
Clear the pool of all students at the conclusion of each session.
Prevent students from entering the pool before a PE teacher or coach is present.
Inspect tiles visually after kayak sessions; report and close lanes immediately if damage is identified.
Enforce pool and diving board rules, and remind swimmers of safety practices.
Conduct regular safety inspections of facilities and equipment to identify and mitigate hazards.
Follow the College’s Emergency Action Plan (EAP) and respond promptly to emergencies (rescues, first aid, CPR).
Inspect, maintain, and ensure pool safety equipment is functional and accessible.
Maintain cleanliness and safe storage of pool equipment; report any facility issues.
Display professionalism in appearance, conduct, and communication at all times.
Carry out other job-related duties as assigned by the Head of Aquatics.
Job Requirement
Requirements
- Valid Lifeguard certification (e.g., National Lifeguard/Equivalent).
- Valid CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.
- Minimum 1–2 years of relevant lifeguard experience in school, recreation, or sports facilities preferred.
- Strong awareness of water safety and emergency response protocols.
- Ability to stay alert, observant, and responsive in all pool situations.
- Professional demeanor with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physically fit with strong swimming and rescue skills.
- Team-oriented with the ability to coordinate with PE teachers, coaches, and other staff.
