Job Description

Establish, maintain, and monitor high-quality Aedes aegypti colonies, including Wolbachia-infected and wild-type strains.
Optimize rearing protocols to ensure high yield and consistent quality of male-only output.
Manage production of Wolbachia-infected male mosquitoes for field release.
Implement and oversee quality assurance checks including sex-sorting, Wolbachia infection rates, survival rate, mating competitiveness, and flight ability.
Design, execute, and analyze experiments related to mosquito biology, Wolbachia dynamics, and vector behavior.
Document and report findings to the project team and stakeholders
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including molecular biologists, field deployment units, and regulatory bodies.
Supervise insectary operations, ensuring compliance with biosafety, cleanliness, and environmental controls.

Job Requirement

Master’s or Ph.D. in Entomology, Vector Biology, Medical Entomology, or related life science field.
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience working with Aedes aegypti mosquitoes.
Track record in mosquito husbandry, especially in mass-rearing and sex-separation techniques is preferred.
Direct experience with Wolbachia-based vector control strategies is preferred.
Familiarity with field trials, insectary setup.
