• Maintain a safe, clean and tidy laboratory environment.

• Ensure that all apparatus and equipment are safe and clean for use.

• Maintain laboratory equipment, apparatus, materials and specimens

in good working condition.

• Report all faulty machines and equipment immediately, and display

an “Out of Order” sign prominently on the machines/equipment.

• Ensure that all glass apparatus or breakages are disposed of

appropriately.

• Ensure that Bunsen burners and high risk items (data loggers and

microscopes) are properly kept and under lock and key.

• Inspect Bunsen burners to ensure they are in good condition.

• Keep a stock book and breakage record to indicate necessary

replacement.

• Check and replenish first aid supplies.

• Aid Science teachers in preparing resources for laboratory lessons.

• Aid Science teachers during laboratory lessons, when required.

• Aid Science teachers with the clearing up after laboratory lessons,

when required
